Matt Payne is in the box seat to become the third New Zealand-born winner of the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy.
The Penrite Racing driver won Saturday's first race from pole position, claiming the five fastest lap bonus points in the process. He then shrugged off a jump start penalty to finish fourth in Race 9.
Heading into Sunday's 140-point Race 10, Payne leads Race 9 winner Chaz Mostert by 33 points, with Will Davison a surprise third ahead of Ryan Wood and Will Brown.
With a maximum of 145 points on offer on Sunday, all drivers are in mathematical contention to win the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, which will be awarded for the 10th time.
Payne and Wood are in the frame to join Shane van Gisbergen and Scott McLaughlin as Kiwi winners of the Richards Trophy.
Supercars will return to the track on Sunday at 10:35am NZST/8:35am AEST with Boost Mobile Qualifying.
