Repco secures naming rights to Supercars' new Sprint Cup
Repco Sprint Cup Trophy to honour Aussie racing legend Sir Jack Brabham
Thrifty Sydney 500 kicks off 2025 Repco Supercars Championship
Supercars is proud to announce that Repco has secured naming rights to the Repco Sprint Cup, the exciting opening phase of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.
As part of the major championship format overhaul revealed for 2025, the Repco Sprint Cup will headline the first eight rounds of the season, featuring 25 high-intensity races.
The driver with the best overall performance across the opening eight rounds of the year will be crowned the inaugural Repco Sprint Cup Champion, earning an automatic berth in the season-ending Finals Series.
In celebration of this new era, Supercars and Repco have developed a bespoke perpetual trophy that holds significant meaning in Australian motorsport history.
The 2025 Repco Sprint Cup Champion will hold a trophy modelled directly off the Brabham BT19 steering wheel – a tribute to Sir Jack Brabham’s legendary 1966 Formula 1 World Championship victory in the Repco V8-powered BT19.
Each year, the name of the winning driver will be etched onto the side of the trophy, and a smaller replica will be presented to the champion as a lasting keepsake.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: “The Repco Sprint Cup is all about flat-out racing and providing fans with thrilling, unpredictable competition.
“With a mix of circuits and action-packed sprint formats, fans will follow along closely before the Repco Sprint Cup Champion is crowned at Queensland Raceway in August.”
The Repco Sprint Cup will kick off this weekend at the Championship-opening three-race Thrifty Sydney 500 from February 21-23.
Repco executive General Manager of Marketing – Mitch Wiley said the Repco Sprint Cup aligns perfectly with Repco’s passion for motorsport: “The crew at Repco across Australia and New Zealand can’t wait to see the new 2025 championship format come to life.
"There is so much expectation on the Repco Sprint Cup to start the season, and we thrilled to extend our partnership even further into the sport our team and customers love.”
Following the Repco Sprint Cup, the championship will transition into the two-round Enduro Cup before the all-new three-round Finals Series, culminating in the VAILO Adelaide Grand Final.
With a total of 13 rounds and 34 races across the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, including a brand-new race format and tyre strategies, Supercars is set to deliver one of the most exciting seasons in its history.
The first race of the Repco Sprint Cup – and the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship – is this Friday at the Thrifty Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park. Tickets are available now via Supercars.com.
