Scott McLaughlin Mustangs commence voyage to US
Championship-winning cars set for Penske Museum in Arizona
Chassis DJRTP06 and DJRTP07 won 2019, 2020 titles
Championship-winning Scott McLaughlin Ford Mustangs have commenced their voyage to the United States, where they will sit at their new home.
Revealed by DJR Team Principal Dr Ryan Story in December, the two remaining McLaughlin-driven, DJR Team Penske-built chassis will head to the United States.
The two Fords departed Dick Johnson Racing's Stapylton headquarters on Wednesday, bound for the Penske Museum in Arizona.
There, the two Fords will be put on display alongside another McLaughlin title winner.
The Mustangs, chassis DJRTP06 and DJRTP07, will be placed alongside DJRTP04, which was carried to championship success by McLaughlin in 2018 in Falcon FG X specifications.
They're not the only Supercars set for the seas, with the full 2025 field currently en route to New Zealand for the upcoming round at Taupō on April 11-13.
McLaughlin's 2018 victory was the last by a Falcon in Supercars, before Ford teams campaigned the Mustang from 2019.
Now an IndyCar championship contender, McLaughlin added two more championships in 2019 and 2020.
McLaughlin raced DJRTP06 raced to a record 18 wins in the first 25 races, including the 2019 Bathurst 1000. However, a shocking Gold Coast accident ended the car's racing life. DJRTP06 was later repaired and restored following the crash.
McLaughlin shifted into DJRTP07 for the remainder of the 2019 season and the entirety of 2020, winning 13 races and a third consecutive championship.
The New Zealander won 31 races in the two Mustangs.
DJRTP06 was put on display at The Bend Motorsport Park's museum late in 2023, where it remained before returning to DJR.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume in New Zealand at the ITM Taupō Super 440 on April 11-13. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
