The new tyre has seen cars running closer to each other, more attacks and more overtaking

This is the second exclusive post-event Supercars.com column by championship-winning Race Engineer Scott Sinclair. Sinclair will preview and debrief each round of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship from his own perspective, continuing with last weekend’s MSS Security Melbourne SuperSprint.

Although we’re only six races into this year’s season, I want to delve into the performance of the new Dunlop Soft tyre.

So far we’ve raced it on a highly abrasive track at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP) and a high grip/high load track at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit (AGP).

We’ve also raced in the day and the night, the dry and damp and the (very) hot.

Across all these conditions, the feedback has remained consistent.
