Supercars launches 2025 season on Sydney Harbour Bridge
Seven Gen3 Supercars drive over bridge under NSW Police escort
Champion Will Brown led superstar convoy of drivers
Traffic was brought to a standstill on Sydney Harbour Bridge as Supercars launched the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship in spectacular style, with Gen3 Supercars thundering across one of Australia's great icons.
The stunning sight of Supercars crossing the world-famous bridge took place under NSW Police escort with seven Supercars making their way from Macquarie Street in the CBD, to Olympic Drive north of the bridge.
Cars were driven by their respective championship drivers; 2024 title winner Will Brown, 2024 Repco Bathurst 1000 winner Brodie Kostecki, Bathurst winners Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat and race winners Cam Waters, Anton De Pasquale and Matt Payne.
Onboard with Supercars’ Superstars for the bridge run was Hall of Fame inductee Colin Bond, Sunrise presenter Katie Brown, performers the Sunset Bros who will take to the pit lane stage on Saturday night at Sydney Motorsport Park, sports media personality Kat Sasso and rising boxing star Brock Jarvis.
The event marked the official launch of the new Supercars season, building momentum for the Thrifty Sydney 500 at Sydney Motorsport Park from February 21-23.
The Harbour Bridge activation kicks off a week of promotions and build up to the opening event of the year.
Momentum continues to build for the season opener at Sydney Motorsport Park, the first event of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship where a brand-new format including the first ever Finals Series will be introduced to crown a champion.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said the Sydney Harbour Bridge provided the perfect backdrop to an exciting new era for the sport.
“The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the world, and there is no better way to launch our 2025 season than by showcasing our incredible race cars in the heart of the city,” Howard said.
“The Thrifty Sydney 500 will mark the start of a landmark season for Supercars, with new regulations, a Sprint Cup, an Enduro Cup, a Finals Series, and a packed calendar of thrilling racing ahead.”

On Thursday February 20, Sydney International Speedway will host a high-octane Sprintcars round as a curtain-raiser, adding to the excitement before the main event.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship officially begins on Friday February 21, with the first ever Friday twilight race, following a single 30-minute practice session and qualifying, the first of four Friday night races in 2025.
Saturday and Sunday will include qualifying sessions, the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, and 200km sprint races.
Taking place immediately after Saturday night’s Supercars race at the Thrifty Sydney 500, in a first for a Supercars event, Aussie DJ phenomenon Timmy Trumpet and Sydney’s streaming superstars Sunset Bros will perform on a stage set across Pit Straight at the circuit.
The Dunlop Super2 Series will also be part of the support card, showcasing the next generation of racing stars.
