Will Brown built his 2024 championship on the back of supreme consistency, and two rounds into 2025, he's on track to repeat the feat.

The reigning champion has reeled off five podiums in a row since Race 2 in Sydney, highlighted by victory in Race 6 at last weekend's Melbourne round.

It may be a similar story to last year, with Brown short on wins. Crucially, though, he isn't short on trophies, his five podiums ahead of next best Cam Waters and teammate Broc Feeney on three.

Crucially, Brown is back on top of the points standings, having led after each round last season. After losing it in Sydney at the first time of asking, the Queenslander snatched it straight back.

While there are six Repco Sprint Cup rounds to go, Brown is where he needs to be to earn early passage into the Finals.

The hallmark of Brown's 2024 title and his start to 2025 has been regular trips to the podium. With three trophies in Melbourne, Brown now has 14 straight rounds with a podium, and is only behind Shane van Gisbergen (18) and Scott McLaughlin (15) in the record books.

If Brown can claim a podium at each of the next five rounds, he will create ATCC/Supercars history, almost certainly keeping him on the path to a second championship should he claim the bonus points for winning the Repco Sprint Cup.

“I think we've really picked up where we left off last year. Consistency,” Brown said.

"We're trying to win races. It’s not easy to win races, but we're able to be consistent enough to get on the podium. We need to keep that going and get the wins when we can.

"But keeping the consistency and trying to win the Sprint Cup at the end of the day is our goal. That's what Broc and I are both going for at the start of this season.

"Then that gets you hopefully gets you a lot further up the front with some extra points to try and make it through to the Finals.”

Brown also knows that being consistent through the first eight rounds and winning the Sprint Cup will only get him so far, given the stakes will rise in the Finals.

Already, Feeney leads the qualifying head-to-head 7-0, with Brown turning it around in the races to lead 4-2.

"It's all about consistency but the hardest thing is that, come Adelaide this year, it's not about consistency, it's about race wins," he said on the broadcast.

"I've got to change my mindset a bit so I can win races when the time counts... I'm not trying to get third, I don't like it. I'm trying but it's just not coming together.

"The mindset is to try and improve qualifying and I feel like I did make a step this weekend.

"But Broc's just doing such a good job there and has got that one-lap pace."

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume in New Zealand at the ITM Taupō Super 440 on April 11-13. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
