Cam Waters and Thomas Randle will share the front row for the VAILO Adelaide 500 opener at the world-famous Adelaide Parklands Circuit.

The Tickford Racing duo set the pace, with title contenders Broc Feeney and Will Brown to launch from third and fifth, split by Penrite Racing driver Matt Payne. Feeney needs to pull 30 points back on Brown to take the title fight to Sunday.

There was drama before the race, with Dale Wood called up for Richie Stanaway, who was ruled out due to delayed concussion symptoms. Wood will start from pit lane.

Following Friday's truncated qualifying session, imes from the first two practice sessions saw the line-up adjusted, with Chaz Mostert notably moving from 22nd to 18th.

All up, 14 Chevrolet Camaros and 10 Ford Mustangs will tackle the iconic circuit, with the 78-lap race to commence at 3:20pm local time/3:50pm AEDT.

The race will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506), Kayo and the Seven Network.
