Supercars is thrilled to announce the introduction of the Boost Mobile Pro DRIFT SLAM to this year's Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

For the first time, some of Australia’s biggest names in drifting will take to the iconic Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, competing in high-octane sessions where precision, smoke, and speed will determine the winners.

The Boost Mobile Pro DRIFT SLAM will feature some of Australia’s best including drifting champion and specialist Rob Whyte, alongside an elite lineup of the nation's best drift drivers.

Fans will be able to hang around after Repco Supercars Championship action finishes on both Friday and Saturday to catch the competition sessions over a portion of the circuit around the famous final corner of the circuit, with the Saturday twilight session live and exclusive on Fox Sports.

Day-time sessions will be a full track entertainment addition to this year’s event.

For those attending the event, fans are encouraged to stay around and catch the action from the hill at the final corner, where DJs, food vendors, MCs and more will keep the atmosphere electric during the drift sessions.

Boost Mobile CEO Jason Haynes said: “At Boost, we’re always pushing the envelope to deliver fresh and exhilarating experiences at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

“As we celebrate Supercars’ 30th anniversary on the streets of Surfers Paradise, we’re thrilled to introduce the Boost Mobile Pro DRIFT SLAM, which promises to inject even more energy and excitement into an already incredible weekend.

“Boost Mobile has proudly supported various motorsport events in Australia for nearly 25 years, and our commitment to enhancing fan experiences remains unwavering. The addition of the Pro DRIFT SLAM is a testament to our dedication to delivering more action and entertainment. We aim to make each year unforgettable for both attendees and viewers, and with the Boost Mobile Pro DRIFT SLAM, we’re elevating the experience to new heights.”

Matt Ramsden, Supercars GC500 Event Manager, said: "Having Australia's best drift drivers on the famous Surfers Paradise Street Circuit is going to be a great spectacle.

"Drifting is a perfect complement to the trademark energy the GC500 is known for. It's a unique opportunity to see these skilled drivers up close, and we’re thrilled to offer something new and exhilarating for our 30th anniversary celebrations."

This year's event will feature a massive lineup of entertainment both on and off the track. Fans can look forward to thrilling races in four support categories: the Porsche Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, V8 SuperUtes, and Toyota 86 GAZOO Racing GR Cup.

The festivities will kick off with the annual transporter parade through Tedder Ave in Main Beach on Wednesday, 23rd October, and the popular sunset signing session under the iconic Surfers Paradise sign will return on Thursday, 24th October. The main event will take place from Friday, 25th October to Sunday, 27th October.

This year’s event will once again feature Hellenika on the Beach Chicane, The Marriott Bonvoy Lounge, Trackside Lounges, the Pavilion x Piper Heidsieck Champagne Lounge and Chicane Club. All of which have ticketing that can be purchased through Supercars.com.

General Admission, Grandstand, Fanstand and Pit Lane Walks are also available through Supercars.com.

In addition to the racing action, final discussions are underway with leading music acts from Australia and around the globe, with more exciting details to be revealed in the coming weeks.

2024 Gold Coast 500 is supported by Experience Gold Coast and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
