Supercars.com to highlight best drivers since 2000

Ahead of the 65th anniversary season of the Repco Supercars Championship, and following the 25th season of the 21st century, Supercars.com will list its 25 best drivers since 2000.

Selected by Supercars.com staff, the 25 best drivers since 2000 list celebrates the past, present and future of the championship.

The unofficial ranked list will be counted down from January 1 through to January 25, leading into the season-opening event at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 21-23. Fans can purchase tickets here.

Supercars.com decided its top 25 drivers since 2000 based on results and on-track achievements since the turn of the century, with 25 championships decided and 25 Bathurst 1000s won in that time.

Some drivers are already in Supercars’ official Hall of Fame, but this list is more about pure talent and results rather than overall contributions to the sport.

The list encompasses the modern era of the sport, recognising Supercars’ most successful drivers since 2000.

Beyond race wins, pole positions and podiums, some drivers have won multiple championships, and others multiple Bathurst 1000s. Only eight drivers since 2000 have won both the championship and the Bathurst 1000.

It’s also worth noting that not every single Supercars.com member agreed with the position of every driver on the list, so it required plenty of deliberation, and some tough decisions were made.
