All four Tickford Racing Mustangs will carry Ukraine signage paying tribute to those in danger in Ukraine.

In light of the situation unfolding in eastern Europe, Tickford Fords will sport a Ukraine flag in Sydney this weekend.

The flag adorns the message, 'We stand with Ukraine'.

The cause is close to Jake Kostecki and his family, with the Kosteckis holding Ukrainian lineage.

"I was born in Australia but my grandparents were born in Ukraine," Kostecki said.

"Since I was little I went to a Ukrainian school after my regular school.

"Growing up I knew a lot of Ukrainians and our family business, Alloy Steel International, actually employs quite a few of them as well.

"With what’s happening in Ukraine at the moment, it’s pretty sad times."

Kostecki will make his Tickford debut this weekend, having joined incumbents Cam Waters and James Courtney.

Thomas Randle will make his full debut with the Ford team.

The dual 300km race weekend will now carry more weight for Kostecki.

"You’ve just got to feel for everyone there and Ukrainians everywhere, it’s really tough to see.

"For Tickford Racing to put the Ukrainian flag on all of our cars, it’s pretty cool to see that show of support.

"Obviously it’s pretty hard for us to make a huge difference from where we are, but it shows that we’re thinking of everyone over there in such hard times."

Practice 1 in Sydney will commence on Friday at 3:15pm AEDT. CLICK HERE to view the race schedule.
