Supercars adopted Live Pit Lane for 2024
Triple Eight, WAU occupy first four garages
Reigning champs Erebus ninth
The new Live Pit Lane rule has shown where teams have risen and fallen year-on-year, with Triple Eight the runaway leaders after five rounds.
The season began in Bathurst with the pit lane order allocated off last year's championship standings, with Erebus Motorsport heading the field.
However, Erebus has encountered a trying start to 2024, with the team ninth in the standings after Round 5.
Had the Live Pit Lane rule been in place last year, Erebus would have occupied Pit Bay 1 ahead of Triple Eight, Brad Jones Racing, and Walkinshaw Andretti United.
After Round 5 in 2024, WAU is second, with BJR 10th.
The biggest winner is Penrite Racing, which is six positions better off than where it say 12 months ago. The Grove squad was second for the opening rounds of the season, and despite dropping to fourth after Darwin, is still markedly better than where it was after Round 5 last year.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team has been been on the move this season, sitting third after Darwin after running as low as 10th in the early rounds.
PremiAir Nulon Racing moved from 10th to eighth in Darwin, but coincidentally, sat eighth this time last year.
The new-look pit lane order will debut at the NTI Townsville 500 on July 5-7. Tickets are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
