BRT rolls out third Gen3 Ford at The Bend
TR-27 acquired by BRT from Tickford Racing in off-season
James Courtney will take Guenther Steiner for hot laps in car
The Blanchard Racing Team has rolled out its third Ford Mustang at The Bend Motorsport Park, complete in new Ford Performance colours.
James Courtney got behind the wheel of the Ford on Tuesday, with BRT rookie teammate Aaron Love also on track at the South Aussie circuit.
Chassis TR-27 was acquired by BRT from Tickford Racing, and was previously raced by then Tickford rookie Declan Fraser in 2023.
A special Ford Performance-inspired dark blue livery has been applied to TR-27, along with the #16, which BRT confirmed was a nod to fellow Team Co-Principal John Blanchard's birthday.
The Box Hill is currently running its own BRT-built Mustangs in the championship for Courtney and Love, with TR-27 currently a spare chassis.
Courtney’s first season with the Blanchard family team is coming in chassis BRT002, which debuted at the hands of Love and Jake Kostecki in the 2023 enduros.
Love, meanwhile, is racing BRT001, which was debuted last year by Todd Hazelwood.
TR-27 will, however, be put to work at this weekend’s Adelaide Motorsport Festival, with Courtney taking prominent Formula 1 figure Guenther Steiner for hot laps.
BRT001 and TR-27 were joined on track at The Bend on Tuesday by Ryan Wood, who like Love, also completed a full rookie test day.
Walkinshaw Andretti United rookie Wood will now fly to Malaysia to compete in this weekend’s Sepang 12 Hours, as will Penrite Racing driver Matt Payne.
Payne will race with Brenton and Stephen Grove in a Mercedes-AMG, with Wood racing a Porsche in Saturday's race.
The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the MSS Security Melbourne SuperSprint on March 21-24.
