Tickford Racing has taken the covers off wildcard rookie Lochie Dalton's first main game Supercar, which will hit the track in Sydney this weekend.

Tasmanian rising star Dalton will steer a third Gen3 Tickford Ford Mustang at the upcoming Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight.

Dalton will carry major backing from Fiducian Group, along with support from AWC, AJMH, Logitech, SRT Logistics, Realm Property Group, BRH Steel Constructions, and Entertainment Park.

The #5 Ford's livery is an evolution of Dalton’s Super2 Mustang, with the car sporting white and blue themes.

Dalton Wildcard Sydney 2024-5

Dalton becomes the second wildcard debutant in 2024, following Cooper Murray's Darwin cameo in a third Triple Eight Race Engineering Chevrolet Camaro.

The Launceston Kart Club junior, who won the Australian Kart Championship in the KA1 Class in 2018, raced in the likes of Toyota 86 and Trans Am Series before shifting to Supercars.

Dalton debuted with Brad Jones Racing late in 2022, before completing a full season with the Albury squad in 2023.

The young driver joined Tickford's junior programme in 2024, paving the way to his wildcard cameo in Sydney.

“I’m really grateful to have all my partners come across from Super2 to back me in my debut Supercars race,” Dalton said.

"It can’t be understated how important they are in allowing drivers to step up to the main game and provide opportunities for myself and other young drivers.

"Sydney is like a home track to me — I’ve done more laps there than anywhere else, so I’m feeling comfortable heading into the weekend.”

Dalton, the youngest Tasmanian to ever race a Supercar, will be engineered by veteran Race Engineer Dilan Talabani. Dalton will race an ex-Cam Waters chassis, which rolled out at a recent test day at Winton Motor Raceway.

“I’m thrilled to see one of our Autosport drivers make their debut in Supercars,” Tickford Racing CEO Simon Brookhouse added.

"This milestone highlights the effectiveness of our development program and the hard work put in by everyone involved.

"We have full confidence in Lochie’s abilities and are excited to see him compete at this level. We know he will do us proud."

Tickets for the Sydney event can be purchased via Supercars.com. The event will be broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and Kayo. Highlights will be broadcast on the Seven Network and 7plus. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
