With the epic aerial display revving up the crowd before the V8 Supercars take to the track to battle it out in the intense qualifying sessions on Saturday and the massive 500km haul on Sunday, V8 Supercars General Manager of Events Phil Shaw said the Sandown 500 would be an action-packed weekend not to be missed.

"It's wonderful to have Matt bring his stunning air show back to V8 Supercars to help kick off our season of endurance," he said.

"I really enjoy bringing my airshow to the V8 Supercar events," he said.

"The fans here have a need for speed, so it's a real buzz to come to an event where the crowd really appreciates what they're seeing and how quick we get up in the sky.

"The plane we'll be taking up is the MXS-R, which is the fastest and most powerful in the country, so to have it on offer alongside Australia's best motor racing category is a pretty cool match-up!"
