Top performer: Sydney Motorsport Park SuperSprint

Mostert stormed further into contention and the champ stamped his authority - who was your best from the weekend's racing?

The Championship ladder has changed and Chaz Mostert has again shown he is a force to be reckoned with.

The young Pepsi Max star won two of the three races, earned two of the three ARMOR ALL Pole Positions and is now creeping up on teammate Mark Winterbottom in the standings.

While Mostert's roll continued, the Holdens hit back at the dominant Fords, with Brad Jones Racing and Triple Eight charging forward.

Who was your top performer across the three races?

Chaz Mostert

He's not only taken second position on the points table but has cut well into Winterbottom's lead after two of three wins on the weekend.

Mostert continued to qualify well, earning his 10th pole position of the year on Saturday.

Even though he started on the second row on Sunday, the 23-year old was able to get into position and blaze into the distance to win by 7.65 seconds.

Jamie Whincup

It has been a long time between drinks for the all-time champ - his last victory was in Tasmania, the second round of the Championship back in March.

Battling with his V8 Supercar that was suffering from a broken header in the race, Whincup flew off the start in Saturday's second and held a hungry Fabian Coulthard at bay to earn maximum points.

A mention also for his racing in the pack on Sunday, turning it on with teammate Craig Lowndes as they raced hard on slicks in the rain to avoid the double stack.

Jason Bright

The tight battle between Bright and Shane van Gisbergen for third came to a head when the TEKNO Commodore made contact and pushed Bright off the track on the last lap.

The Team BOC driver rejoined to take the podium position, and while the contact and rejoin were both looked at, the stewards deemed no breech of the rules for either driver.

Bright made 11 positions in the race and had a spectacular save in Saturday's race after a tag from Garth Tander.

Yesterday's result was Bright's first podium finish since Race 10 in New Zealand last year.

Jack Perkins

He was Holden Racing Team's 'super sub' over the weekend and finished Sunday's 200km race just shy of the top 10.

Unexpectedly thrown into the #22 after James Courtney's shock injury on Friday, Perkins had his first run in the Walkinshaw Commodore on soft tyres, and then in the rain on Sunday.

A lap one pit stop just before the safety car was called put Perkins in a good position early in yesrterday's race and he was able to nab 11th place after starting 25th.

He earned just five points less than Marcos Ambrose had in one Championship event.
