The legends of V8 Supercars are revved up and ready for action at the 2013 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix with the drivers set to battle it out for line honours whilst keeping a watchful eye on new recruit Casey Stoner.
All of the superstars will be out on show during the four days of racing across the MSS Security V8 Supercars Challenge with Jamie Whincup, Craig Lowndes, Mark Winterbottom, Will Davison and Todd Kelly all taking to the starting grid.
New kid on the V8 juggernaut block, Casey Stoner, will also take to the Albert Park track in a V8 Supercar however he will be racing in the Ultimate Speed Comparison. This race is set to be a must-watch affair for all attendees at Albert Park.
V8 Supercar driver Will Davison is just as excited to see King Casey behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar as he is to be racing himself and he is expecting big things from the two-time MotoGP World Champion.
"Casey is very passionate about V8 Supercars and we've got to remember who he is and what he's done – he is one of the greatest motorbike riders in the world. He's back here on home soil, he's representing V8 Supercars and he's going to be up against a Formula One car. It's certainly going to be spectacular," said Davison.
The Ultimate Speed Comparison is a handicapped race that sees Stoner racing a Red Bull V8 Supercar and lining up against motorsport royalty Mick Doohan in a SL63 AMG Mercedes road car and David Coulthard in a Red Bull Racing Formula One car to see who is the quickest.
Craig Lowndes thinks that Casey's entrance into the world of V8's has been great for the sport and that his involvement in the Ultimate Speed Comparison will be a great spectacle for motorsport fans.
What does Lowndes expect that racegoers will see from Casey? "Fans are going to have a great insight into what Casey is all about and what he brings to the sport. He is very focused on trying to achieve greatness."
Both the MSS Security V8 Supercars Challenge and the Ultimate Speed Comparison will take place on all four event days at the 2013 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix. For more information on tickets please click here: grandprix.com.au/tickets/general-admission.
