It’s here. The ultimate finale. The showdown between teammates, old rivals, Holden versus Ford.
The classic battle will play out on the streets of Sydney and while just 20 points separate the top two today, by Sunday evening we will know the name of the 2013 V8 Supercars Champion.
Who will it be? Jamie Whincup, shooting for his fifth title, who has never finished on the podium at this event? Craig Lowndes, who won his last Championship 14 years ago? Mark Winterbottom, further back in third but hungry to break through after his Bathurst victory? Or Will Davison, who needs a miracle to bridge the gap – miracles do happen on occasion at the Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500.
Throw in the first ever twilight race on Saturday evening – it’s a sporting event not to be missed.
Here are the ways to follow all of the action from the Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500.
Watch it LIVE
The best part of a street circuit? It’s easily accessible. If you’re a Sydney-sider, head to Homebush, which is around a half-hour drive from the CBD, central to Greater Western Sydney. Click here for ways to get to the circuit for the Sydney NRMA Motoring & Services 500.
There are still tickets available and because it is the grand finale, there will be more on and off-track to keep you busy.
Paddock passes are available across the weekend to the unique pavilion paddock, where you can see the V8 Supercars and transporters up-close in the air-conditioned area.
Friday Night Live will be filmed in the paddock, giving fans the chance to appear on the live TV show, which will see all your favourite pit lane personalities take part. The first 500 fans will receive free V8 Supercars stubby coolers.
There’s also a range of interactive activities across the weekend such as autograph sessions, the Disney-Pixar Fun Zone and Family Zone for kids, Coopers Bar and the Triple M Chill Zone.
And when the V8 Supercars are not on-track, on the great support categories battling for Championships will race the concrete jungle. Dunlop Series, V8 Utes, Formula Ford and Aussie Racing Cars will take up the challenge.
Grandstand and trackside passes are still available through the event – book through Ticketek. Children 12 and under receive free general admission passes.
Some of the recommended areas for best views in GA are the grassed area near the 11-12-13 sequence, directly over the overpass from Gate One; the Sydney Precinct Park area near turns nine and 10 over the Turn Nine Bridge from Gate Six; and on both the inside and outside of turn eight, where the straight begins near ANZ Stadium.
