Fans will have plenty of opportunities to meet all 25 Repco Supercars Championship drivers ahead of opening practice for next weekend’s NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint.
Before the first Gen3 Camaro vs Mustang race at Symmons Plains, drivers will assemble at the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania (NAMT) on Thursday May 18.
Supercars’ welcome party at NAMT, near Launceston’s CBD, will kick off at 3:00pm, with an autograph session with all 25 Supercars drivers from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
LAFM will broadcast from the event, featuring a Gen3 Camaro Supercar on-site, with activities from the Supercars SuperKids Zone providing entertainment for all ages ahead of the beginning of on-track action.
As on track action begins on Friday at Symmons Plains, fans will be able to catch a glimpse of Supercars drivers taking on a range of trackside support roles.
From parking attendants and scanning tickets, to selling merchandise and providing refreshments to officials, drivers will show their support of volunteers at the 50th ATCC/Supercars race event at the venue.
Local primary school children will get a special trackside experience on Friday afternoon, with several drivers providing tours for the Students on Track program as well.
Students from several local schools will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about the world’s leading touring car category from the drivers themselves.
After Supercars hit the track on Saturday, drivers will meet with fans at another autograph session on Sunday morning behind team garages from 8:00am to 8:30am.
On-track action begins with support categories next Friday, with competition from Formula Ford, Aussie Racing Cars, Porsche Sprint Challenge, and Tassie Tin Tops.
Drifting displays and aerial displays will complement the racing action, while the SuperKids Zone makes its first trip to Tasmania.
