Dick Johnson Racing and Team 18 are set to have their cars ready for Saturday practice after courageous all-night repair efforts in Bathurst.

Will Davison crashed the #17 Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang heavily in Boost Mobile Qualifying at approximately 5:00pm on Friday afternoon.

In the space of 12 hours, DJR worked through the night, stripped the car down to its chassis, and began reassembly, before running up at 4:30am local time.

Team Principal Dr Ryan Story posted to social media of DJR mechanics working on the car in the early hours of the morning, proudly claiming the car will be ready for co-driver Practice 5 at 10:05am.

It marks one of the most significant rebuilds of a car at a race event since the Gen3 era began last year, with Team 18 also working into the night to repairs David Reynolds's damaged car.

Reynolds also crunched the concrete at The Dipper on Friday, with the 2017 Bathurst winner set to start 21st alongside teammate Mark Winterbottom, five positions behind Davison.

Team 18 flagged the front clip would need to be replaced, with Reynolds hitting the concrete wall head-on in his incident.

Crucially, the morning session will give both teams a chance to effectively shake down their cars, which suffered extensive left-side damage.

It also give Allen more time to get back on his feet, after he was shaken by his own incident during Dunlop Series qualifying on Friday morning.

Davison was cleared of major injuries at the on-site medical centre following the crash, before consoling his team in the garage as the car returned to the paddock

The two-time Bathurst winner won't have to suit up until Practice 6 at 1:10pm on Saturday afternoon.

DJR will have a car in Saturday's Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, with Anton De Pasquale qualifying ninth on Friday.

Supercars will return to the track on Saturday with two practice sessions and the blockbuster Top Ten Shootout. Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are on sale now.
