Chelsea Angelo returns to the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series bigger and better in 2016, boasting the support of Dragon Motor Racing for her first full-time campaign in the series.
The young Melbourne-native made a one-off appearance in the category last year at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide, but was unable to find a seat for the remaining six rounds.
After an evaluation day with Image Racing towards the end of the year, Angelo announced she would make her return to the series in 2016, becoming the second full-time female competitor on the grid alongside Renee Gracie. Stepping into karts at age 11, it wasn’t long before Angelo began collecting titles, having bagged two club championships in her first year. Formula Ford was the next step, making her debut in the category at 15 where she earned numerous podium finishes, before embarking on a successful stint in Formula 3 in 2014.
After seven race wins and setting the fastest lap at Phillip Island, Angelo set her sights on the Dunlop Series, where she finished 18th in her first outing in Adelaide last year.
