Josh Kean became involved in the Saloon Car Series in 2012 driving a VT Commodore, under the Team Kean Racing banner. It was soon evident that he had found his niche, with Kean finishing third at the first round at Mallala.
He then went on to successfully complete four state rounds and six Shannons National Series rounds, finishing second overall in his first national championship.
In 2013, Kean stepped up into the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series, competing in the first three rounds with THR Developments. While the experience was invaluable, the prospect of making a debut in the Supercars Dunlop Super2 Series after purchasing a VE II Commodore from Walkinshaw Racing was too good to pass up.
He ran under the THR banner at Winton and Bathurst in 2013, before moving to Tim Kean Racing for the 2014 season. In 2015, Kean moved to the Brad Jones Racing stable, where he remained in 2016 to finish 12th in the championship.
In 2017 Kean joins back-to-back Dunlop Super2 Series championship winning outfit Prodrive Racing (Australia)’s two-car line-up to race a team-built Ford Falcon FG X.
