There are now just 100 days until the 30th anniversary of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, the biggest annual sporting event in Queensland.

This year’s event, running October 25-27 on the famous Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, promises to be one of the most spectacular yet, celebrating three decades of racing history and entertainment.

The 2023 event was attended by 201,971 fans – the highest since the Supercars-only era began in 2009. According to Queensland Government figures, the 2023 event achieved an economic impact to the Gold Coast of $58.05m, a growth of $2.12m from the 2022 event’s economic impact of $55.93m.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: "The 30th anniversary of the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 is a momentous occasion for Supercars and the entire Gold Coast community.

“Over the past three decades, this event has grown to become a highlight of the sporting calendar, not just in Queensland, but across Australia and it is recognised as one of the premier street circuit events globally every year.

"As we celebrate 30 years since that historic first race, we are reminded of the rich heritage and the incredible moments that have defined this event.

"We're pulling out all the stops to make the 30th anniversary the best Gold Coast 500 yet.

“With an incredible lineup of races, entertainment, and community events, we can't wait to welcome fans from around the world to experience the excitement and magic of this iconic event.

“The Gold Coast 500 is more than just a race; it's a celebration of motorsport, community, and entertainment."

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said: “Start your engines, the countdown is on to the biggest party on the annual supercar calendar right here on the Gold Coast.

“This year’s celebration is set to be bigger than ever as we toast three decades of hosting Supercars on one of the toughest street circuits in the southern hemisphere. Over 200,000 racing fans can’t be wrong, the Gold Coast 500 is an unmissable experience for the entire family.”

Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn said: “When it comes to iconic Gold Coast events, the Gold Coast 500 is hard to beat, and it’s no surprise this highlight of our major events portfolio has not just stuck around for 30 years but has gone from strength to strength.

“Worth an estimated $58 million to our local economy, this fantastic event drives more than just dollars into the city, it boosts our reputation nationally and globally as a world-class sporting events destination.”

The 2024 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 will commemorate 30 years since Supercars joined the Indy festival as a support category for the first time in 1994. Supercars’ Hall of Fame inductee John Bowe triumphed in the inaugural race, driving a Dick Johnson Racing Ford Falcon EB.

This year's event will feature a massive lineup of entertainment both on and off the track. Fans can look forward to thrilling races in four support categories: Porsche Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, V8 SuperUtes, and Toyota 86 GAZOO Racing Australia GR Cup.

The festivities will kick off with the annual transporter parade through Tedder Ave in Main Beach on Wednesday October 23, and the popular sunset signing session under the iconic Surfers Paradise sign will return on Thursday October 24. The main event will take place from Friday October 25 to Sunday October 27, with all eyes on the exhilarating street circuit.

Famous for its incredible corporate hospitality offerings, this year’s event will once again feature Hellenika on the Beach Chicane, The Sports Lounge, Trackside Lounges, the Pavilion x Piper Heidsieck Champagne Lounge and Chicane Club. All have ticketing that can be purchased through Supercars.com.

In addition to the racing action, final discussions are underway with leading music acts from Australia and around the globe, with more exciting details to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 is supported by Experience Gold Coast and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
