While the Repco Supercars Championship again proved elusive, Cam Waters will end the year $25,000 richer after clinching the Boost Mobile Pole Champion prize with a round to spare.

The Tickford Racing driver has taken home six pole positions and a combined $11,500 for his efforts this season, and could yet add to his tally at the VAILO Adelaide 500.

Waters claimed $1000 pole prizes at the Grand Prix, New Zealand, Perth, Townsville and Tasmania, before claiming another $6500 with Saturday pole at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

Waters pulled two clear of Triple Eight driver Broc Feeney at the top of the leaderboard, and with Brodie Kostecki claiming Sunday pole on the Gold Coast pole, the Ford star clinched the Boost Mobile Pole Champion title and Boost Mobile Gold Helmet with a round to go.

With just two poles yet to be decided at the Adelaide season finale next month, Feeney can only equal Waters on six poles, but the Tickford driver would still win the prize on a countback.

Waters has qualified second six times to Feeney's three, with both drivers qualifying third twice. Should Feeney score both Adelaide poles, Waters' second-place results would deliver him the title.

It adds to Waters' 2022 Pole Champion victory, with the Mildura-born driver claiming a season-high 10 poles.

In 2022, the Pole Champion took home $10,000, with Waters' 2024 efforts going $15,000 better after Boost Mobile upped the prize this season.

Waters became just the sixth multi-time Pole Champion winner, after Jamie Whincup, Mark Skaife, Scott McLaughlin, Craig Lowndes and Marcos Ambrose.
