The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship grid is almost set with James Golding’s retention by PremiAir Racing.
Golding’s re-signing was announced by PremiAir Racing on Thursday morning.
The Victorian joined the team mid-season as a replacement for Garry Jacobson.
Brad Jones Racing has yet to formally announce Bryce Fullwood, Macauley Jones and Jack Smith, but there aren't expected to be any changes.
That leaves the vacant seat at Matt Stone Racing as the only unknown.
Several young drivers have been linked to the drive, which will be vacated by Todd Hazelwood at year’s end.
Hazelwood is moving to CoolDrive Racing, with Tim Slade joining Golding at PremiAir Racing.
MSR has made a habit of signing youth, and the 2023 recruit is expected to be no different.
Declan Fraser was one driver linked to the MSR seat, but withdrew over the Gold Coast weekend.
Fraser’s Super2 Triple Eight teammate Cameron Hill has since been linked to the seat.
The Canberran also won the Australian Formula Ford title in 2015, and also has a Bathurst 6 Hour win to his name.
Hill, the 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia champion, has impressed in his first season in a Supercar.
Hill is favourite for the MSR seat
Last month, he pieced together an error-free Bathurst 1000 debut with PremiAir Racing.
Hill is a mathematical chance to win this year's Super2 title as a rookie.
With one round remaining, Hill is 165 points behind teammate Fraser, 90 behind Zak Best and 33 behind Matt Payne.
Should Hill secure the drive, he would join Payne as the only rookies on the 2023 grid.
Jayden Ojeda has raced for MSR at Mount Panorama for the last two years.
Ojeda also completed three wildcard rounds for Walkinshaw Andretti United this year.
Hill’s Super2 rivals Zak Best and Angelo Mouzouris have also been linked to the drive.
The 2022 Supercars and Super2 seasons will conclude in Adelaide on December 1-4.
