Zak Best will return to the Super2 fold in 2023 aboard an Anderson Motorsport-run Mustang.
The car in question is an ex-DJR Team Penske Mustang.
Best, 21, raced for Tickford Racing in the 2021 and 2022 Dunlop Series.
He raced in the Repco Bathurst 1000 in both years, and finished runner-up in last year’s Super2 Series.
Best’s shift to Anderson Motorsport comes after Tickford announced Elly Morrow and a former Anderson driver Brad Vaughan as its Super2 drivers for 2023.
He also missed out on the vacancy created by Jake Kostecki’s departure, with 2022 Super2 champion Declan Fraser called up to the main game.
Regardless, Best remains in Tickford’s plans and is set to make more wildcard starts this season.
The Victorian will race chassis DJRTP05, which debuted as an FG X Falcon for Fabian Coulthard in 2018.
"I've decided to rip the lid off and have another dip at the Super2 championship this year with Anderson Motorsport,” he posted to social media.
“Can’t wait to get stuck in and lick the stamp, bring on 2023.
"P.S. Livery reveal coming soon.”
The Anderson Best Mustang is one of five confirmed Fords in Super2, with Zane Morse and Aaron Love entered by AIM Motorsport and Blanchard Racing Team respectively.
Eggleston Motorsport has entered four Commodores, while Walkinshaw Andretti United will run two cars.
Gomersall Motorsport, Image Racing, Erebus Motorsport and Brad Jones Racing will all field solo entries.
The new Super2 and Super3 seasons will commence at the Thrifty Newcastle 500 on March 10-12.
Tickets are on sale on Supercars.com and Ticketek.com.
