A Ford Mustang wildcard will join this year's Repco Bathurst 1000 grid.
The Mustang is the second wildcard, after Erebus Motorsport, to be officially confirmed for October’s race.
Triple Eight Race Engineering is expected to run a wildcard, which will take the grid to 28 cars.
The Mustang wildcard will be skippered by Anderson Motorsport with "minimal technical support" from Dick Johnson Racing.
Anderson Motorsport currently competes in Super3 with Brad Vaughan behind the wheel.
Team owner Michael Anderson has purchased a former DJR Mustang for the wildcard, which has been approved.
"It's my lifelong dream to race in Bathurst," Anderson, a Bathurst local, told Supercars.com.
"I got in contact with Ryan Story, he was unbelievably good to deal with through the process.
"He made it better than I could have imagined.
"From here, we've got to get everything else together, but I can't wait."
Anderson’s squad has been a fixture of Super3 since 2016; that year, he finished seventh in the points.
He upgraded to an FG Falcon in 2017 and finished third overall, winning a race and scoring six podiums.
Jayden Ojeda drove for the team in 2019, and finished second behind current Red Bull Ampol Racing driver Broc Feeney.
Current Triple Eight Super2 driver Declan Fraser raced for the team in Super3 in 2020.
The team also entered a Super2 entry for Tyler Everingham, who now races for MW Motorsport.
The entry is not an official DJR wildcard; rather, the team will offer Anderson’s squad "minimal technical support".
The car in question last raced with Fabian Coulthard in 2020.
The car will graduate to Super2 next year, with Mustangs and ZB Commodores eligible for Super2 from 2023.
Erebus Motorsport recently confirmed it will revive the Boost Mobile-backed wildcard for Greg Murphy and Richie Stanaway.
The Murphy-Stanaway wildcard was a late withdrawal from the 2021 Great Race due to border complications.
Murphy and Stanaway will make their first Bathurst starts since 2014 and 2019 respectively.
This year’s Repco Bathurst 1000 will be held on October 6-9.
The season will resume at the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown on June 17-19. Purchase your tickets now.
