Multi-million dollar parade of transporters returns to Townsville

On Wednesday July 6 the streets of Townsville will once again transform into a parade of tooting and waving as Supercars arrives in town.

The multi-million-dollar procession of Supercar transporters returns to Townsville to mark the official start to this year’s NTI Townsville 500.

Supercars teams' massive B-Double transporters will begin the journey from Webb Drive at the Bohle, taking a right turn down Ingham road, then Shaw Road, along the Ring Road, before starting the fanfare along Hervey Range Road, Ross River Road and Charters Towers Road, finishing at Reid Park.

Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Nick Percat is set to lead the procession in the NTI 1946 Jailbar dual cab ute.

Spectators are encouraged to congregate safely along Hervey Range Road, Ross River Road and Charters Towers Road; keeping in mind parking is not permitted along Shaw Road/The Ring Road.

The Supercars team will also be on patrol handing out flags and perhaps a few spot-prizes to a few lucky spectators.

Key timings for Wednesday’s transporter parade are as follows:

12.00pm: Convoy to depart the Webb Drive, the Bohle12.10pm: Drive down Shaw Road/The Ring Road – please note no spectator or parked car viewing as this is a Motorway12.20pm: Enter Hervey Range Road12.25pm: Pass the intersection on Hervey Range Road and Thuringowa Drive12.30pm: Drive up Ross River Road12.35pm: Pass the intersection on Ross River Road and Nathan Street12.40pm: Enter Charters Towers Road (intersection of Charters Towers Road and Bowen Road)12.45pm: Enter the Reid Park complex

The 2022 NTI Townsville 500 will run this weekend from July 8 -10. Tickets through Ticketek.
