Penrite Racing unveils new Bathurst look

Penrite Racing has uncovered its 2022 Repco Bathurst 1000 livery on top of Mount Panorama.

Drivers Lee Holdsworth and David Reynolds unveiled the look in front of fans on Tuesday.

The Bathurst winners peeled back the covers of their Ford Mustangs in the campground.

Holdsworth will make his 19th Bathurst start, and Reynolds his 15th.

"Driving into the circuit today gave me butterflies,” Holdsworth said.

“To come straight up to the top of the Mountain to show the fans, who make this race and our sport so special.

"The car looks great but there’s many tales of what fans have done to cars over the years up here.

“Hopefully the team gets mine back down to the pits safely.”

Last week, the team announce Reynolds had re-signed for 2023.

The 2017 Bathurst winner will be joined by rookie Matt Payne, who graduates from the Grove's junior academy.

Holdsworth will retire from full-time driving at year's end.

Reynolds, who will make his 400th race start, was delighted to mix with fans on Tuesday.

"There’s nothing like this race,” he said.

“Driving up from Melbourne, I just get more and more excited the closer I was getting to the track.

"I love the sights and sounds that you only get up on top of the Mountain, all their campsites are awesome.

"When you’re in the car at the end of the race and the fans are going nuts it’s so amazing.

"I hope we’re right up the front come Sunday afternoon with our new look to give them something to cheer for."

Cars will hit the track at Mount Panorama for Practice 1 on Thursday.
