Will Brown has become the first rookie to win an ATCC/Supercars race in eight years.
Brown staved off Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen to win a thrilling BP Ultimate Sydney SuperSprint finale.
The 23-year-old Erebus Motorsport driver helped himself to a marker not seen in Supercars in nearly a decade.
Scott McLaughlin and Chaz Mostert both won their first career races as full-time rookies in 2013.
A teenage McLaughlin rewrote the record books on home soil at Pukekohe when he won as an 19-year-old for Garry Rogers Motorsport.
McLaughlin turned 20 a few weeks later, and added a second victory at Queensland Raceway.
That same weekend, Mostert - who had been picked up by Dick Johnson Racing mid-season - won his first race.
That day, Mostert defied Ford Performance Racing teammates Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison to win the 2013 Ipswich finale.
At the time of Mostert's victory, Brown was just 15 years old.

On Sunday, he became just the 82nd driver in ATCC/Supercars history to win a race.
Brown is in good company; McLaughlin and Mostert combine for 71 race wins, two Bathurst 1000 victories, 98 pole positions and three drivers' titles.
"There's no way to describe it," said Brown, who won on his 38th race start, a day after he finished third in Race 26.
"My first year, to get a race win... we would have been pumped to finish in the top 10.
"It was cool that it came down to the wire in the end; I had to do a bit of racing at the end, which made it a lot of fun.
Mostert won at Queensland Raceway later in 2013
"Any time you can win is cool, but in your rookie year... not getting too ahead of ourselves, but we're pretty pumped about it."
