Team 18 duo David Reynolds and Mark Winterbottom will race wth special pink helmets at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Courtesy of JAX Tyres & Auto, Reynolds and Winterbottom will sport new helmets to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The limited-edition pink helmets have been uniquely designed and painted by renowned helmet artist Trent Rogers of 6Star Custom Paint.

Reynolds raced with a pink helmet last year, and duly won the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 finale.

The auction hosted by Lloyds Auctions for these one-of-a-kind helmets is now available online only and will conclude at 5:00pm AEST on Monday October 28.

All proceeds will go towards breast cancer research to support NBCF’s mission of Zero Deaths from breast cancer. To place your bids, click here.

"This initiative that JAX Tyres & Auto has put together in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation is incredibly important, and this year it’s even more special because I get to promote the cause with my teammate," the 2017 Bathurst winner said.

"This year’s helmet design really stands out with some fun Gold Coast elements, like palm trees, and I think it’s going to turn a few heads. More importantly, I hope it raises a lot of money for such an important cause.”

The latest initiative comes after Tickford Racing co-driver Tyler Everingham auctioned off his Bathurst race helmet for Breast Cancer Trials.

The cause is close to Winterbottom's heart, given his mother passed away from breast cancer.

"Wearing a pink helmet for the Gold Coast 500 is very close to my heart. My mum passed away from breast cancer, so I know first hand how devastating this disease can be," the 2013 Supercars champion said.

"That’s why supporting the National Breast Cancer Foundation means so much to me, and I’ll be proud to wear this helmet as a tribute to her and everyone else who’s been affected."

April Harwood, Chief Franchising Operations Officer at JAX Tyres & Auto, said: "Partnering with champions David Reynolds and Mark Winterbottom, we hope to make a lasting impact through the auction of these uniquely crafted helmets, painted by the talented Trent Rogers from 6Star Custom Paint.”

Reynolds and Winterbottom will resume their 2024 Repco Supercars Championship campaigns at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 25-27. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
