Matt Stone Racing is looking to run a wildcard alongside its regular Supercars entries next season, after taking delivery of a new Gen3 chassis.

MSR currently runs two full-time entries for Nick Percat and Cameron Hill, with the latest chassis the team's fourth.

Percat debuted a new chassis, MSR-005, during the enduros. The 2011 Bathurst winner raced MSR-004 to wins in Melbourne and Tasmania, with the car benched and now used as a spare.

The new chassis, MSR-006, will be built ready for Hill to debut in 2025.

MSR-004 will be rebuilt by the team in the hope of completing wildcard starts in 2025, something the team initially had ambitions to achieve in 2024. In the interim, MSR will have the spare chassis on standby should Percat or Hill require it.

" Here we have our fourth Gen3 chassis which we've just taken delivery of," Stone said in a team video.

"We're currently prepping it to get painted this week, and then we'll start the build process over the off-season, ready for Cam Hill to debut at the start of the 2025 season in Sydney.

"This car will be chassis number MSR-006, 003 being Cam's current car, Nick's new chassis he's racing at the moment being 005, and 004 being our spare, ready for wildcard efforts next year."

Stone says the team plans to build its next batch of cars in 2026, with Percat to carry his new chassis into the 2025 season.

An MSR wildcard could likely end up being raced by Cameron Crick, who impressed with the team alongside Hill at Sandown and Bathurst, finishing 10th in both races.

"We have our spare chassis, which Nick raced last at Tasmania to victory. That'll be getting rebuilt over the off-season, ready for some wildcard efforts, potentially in 2025," Stone said.

"Traditionally, pre the Gen3 era, we always ran secondhand cars purchased for other teams. So moving into Gen3, a big shift for us was in building our own cars. Now that we've done that, obviously we've kept the process going, and by the next season opener, we'll have a fleet of four cars, all current spec.

"We'll have two racing, one complete, ready to go spare for a wildcard, and a spare chassis ready for in case we need it for an emergency."

Percat and Hill will conclude their 2024 Repco Supercars Championship campaigns at the VAILO Adelaide 500 from November 14-17. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
