Supercars legend Greg Murphy will sample a Gen3 Supercar amid a special father/son swap in Sydney.
Murphy is set to steer a new-generation Erebus Motorsport Chevrolet Supercar in the lead-up to this weekend’s Beaurepaires Sydney SuperSprint.
The four-time Bathurst winner will be joined at Sydney Motorsport Park by son Ronan.
The Murphys will take part in a special filmed piece backed by Merlin, which will be shown during the Sydney broadcast and on Supercars.com’s digital channels.
Ronan Murphy, 21, will race in Sydney this weekend in Round 3 of the 2023 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge season.
In the piece, Murphy junior will first take his father for a ride aboard his #77 Porsche, before Greg returns the favour.
Murphy senior, who won 28 Supercars races, will take to the wheel of a Gen3 Supercar with Ronan sitting by his side.
Murphy on track recently at Brands Hatch
Ronan is no stranger to Supercars, recently taking a passenger ride with countryman, Walkinshaw Andretti United Super2 driver Ryan Wood.
Greg, who turned 50 last year, is also fresh out of the saddle after a spectacular return to Mount Panorama, and recent laps at Brands Hatch.
The popular New Zealander joined compatriot Richie Stanaway in an Erebus-run, Boost Mobile-backed wildcard Commodore.
Murphy and Stanaway came home 11th in the race, with Stanaway a shock qualifier in the Top Ten Shootout.
Stanaway will partner Shane van Gisbergen in the #97 Red Bull Ampol Camaro for Sandown and Bathurst.
Last month, Murphy travelled to the UK for the Super Touring Power event at Brands Hatch.
There, Murphy not only raced a Nissan Primera Super Touring car, but also reacquainted with his former Tasman Motorsport VE Commodore Supercar.
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight on July 28-30. Tickets are on sale now.
