Schedule set for Bathurst 1000

The schedule has been set for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, with four support categories to join Supercars as part of the on-track action.

Dunlop Super2/Super3, Aussie Tin Tops, the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series and a Combined Historics field will all feature at Mount Panorama next month.

As opposed to recent editions where Super2 has contested a single 250km mini-enduro, the combined Super2/Super3 field will take part in two 100km sprint races – with the grid for each determined by separate qualifying sessions.

Among other details revealed for the October 15-18 event will be the allowance of 12 performance personnel and four non-performance personnel per two-car Supercars team.

Supercars will run seven one-hour practice sessions, including three specifically for co-drivers, as part of the build-up to the ARMOR ALL Top 10 Shootout and 161-lap race.

The 1000km main event will get underway from 11:30am local time on October 18 – the final day of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

UPDATE: The race start time has been brought forward by 30 minutes amid forecasts of thunderstorms throughout Sunday.
