Erebus, Image cars to carry Dana Wyhoon tribute messages
Wyhoon, who managed Image Racing with husband Terry, recently passed away
Jarrod Hughes, Jobe Stewart to make Super2 debuts in 2024
Super2 rookie Jarrod Hughes is determined to bring home a result in Bathurst for Image Racing in the wake of Dana Wyhoon’s passing.
Dana, the beloved wife of Terry and a key member of the Image Racing team, recently passed away following a battle with illness.
Image Racing, the team they managed together, has been a key plater in the junior tiers of Supercars for over 20 years.
The team will again compete in this year's Dunlop Series in partnership with Erebus Motorsport, with Jarrod Hughes making his debut for Image Racing.
Super3 champion Jobe Stewart, meanwhile, steps up in the Erebus entry, with both drivers making their Super2 debuts.
Hughes and Stewart’s two Commodores, as well as Erebus Motorsport’s main game Gen3 Camaros, are sporting a tribute message on their rear windscreens.
For Hughes, this weekend’s Thrifty Bathurst 500 offers a chance for drivers and teams to celebrate Dana’s life, and contribution.
“She was really kind-hearted, and if anyone ever needed help, she was there to help out. She just loved being at the track,” Hughes told Supercars.com.
“Jobe and I are going to do everything we can this weekend, but also this year to try and make Terry and the rest of the team proud.
“We are racing for Dana, the team deserves some good results, so hopefully we can give it to them.”
A funeral will be held on February 27 at 2:00pm AEDT at Korumburra Cemetery.
Stewart and Hughes will hit the track on Friday at Mount Panorama from Friday morning, with the Dunlop Series action headlined by races on Saturday and Sunday.
