Eggleston Motorsport signs Super3 champ for 2025
Cody Burcher to race Super2 entry for Eggleston squad
Orange local recently clinched Super2 title in Bathurst
Reigning Dunlop Super2 Series champions Eggleston Motorsport have confirmed 21-year-old Cody Burcher as the team’s latest signing for its 2025 line-up.
The Orange-based racer clinched this year’s Dunlop Super3 Series at Bathurst and will debut in Super2 next year at the wheel of one of the team’s Triple Eight-built ZB Commodores. Burcher has enjoyed a brilliant first season in Super3 this year, racking up three round wins, eight race wins and eight pole positions.
He's also enjoyed success this year in a BMW in the Monochrome GT4 Series alongside Tim Leahey. The duo won both races at Phillip Island’s GT Festival in August. “We are very excited to welcome the new Super3 Champion to the team in 2025,” says Eggleston Motorsport team co-owner and manager, Rachael Eggleston.
“Cody has done his apprenticeship in some fantastic learning series in Formula Ford and Toyota 86 and now it is time to make the step up.
“He’s very dedicated to his racing and takes it very seriously. I can already tell he is going to leave no stone unturned to succeed in Super2 and he will be aiming to battle up the front from Round 1, which we are confident he can do.
“We are a very hard working and passionate team and we look for the same qualities in our drivers. We see a lot of potential in Cody and look forward to helping him achieve his racing goals.”
Burcher joins Toyota GR Cup race winner Bradi Owen in EMS’ line-up for 2025 with further drivers to be confirmed in upcoming weeks.
“I am super excited to join the Eggleston team in Super2 next season, their success and professionalism has been the benchmark for a number of years,” says Burcher.
“They’ve had success in recent years with Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown, who have each gone on to achieve great things. It shows the team’s commitment to success and I’m aiming to follow in their wheel tracks.
“Super3 this season has certainly taught me a lot. Being in an older generation car has made me work very hard to qualify and race as far up the field as possible.
“To wrap the championship up with one round to go at my home round at Bathurst was something I am super proud of.
“To have all my family and sponsors there was surreal and I am looking forward to bringing them along with me next season aiming towards the same sort of success.”
The 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park’s Sydney 500 on February 21-23 next year.
Eggleston Motorsport will be aiming to win its second straight Dunlop Series crown next month in the final round of this year’s series at the VAILO Adelaide 500.
Reigning champ Kai Allen sits third in the series, 42 points behind leader Zach Bates.
