Penrite Racing have unveiled a special tribute livery in partnership with the ANZAC Appeal ahead of this weekend's ITM Taupō Super 440.

The Penrite Mustangs of Kiwi Matt Payne and rookie Kai Allen will be adorned in a special livery, encouraging fans to donate to the ANZAC Appeal in the last Supercars event before ANZAC Day on April 25.

The traditional wreath on the Penrite logo makes way for a wreath of poppies on the front bonnet of the car, whilst a poppy also appears on the rear of the car, with the phrase 'Lest we Forget' also prominent on the front and rear of the Penrite entries.

The RSL's ANZAC Appeal raises funds for veterans and their families which can be used for medical support, social support, and employment.

The donation drive has been initiated by Penrite Oils, who are offering fans a chance to win a signed bonnet featuring the wreath for any fan who donates $20 or more up to April 25. The draw will occur on April 29 at 12:00pm.

Penrite Oil CEO Toby Dymond says the tribute livery is a fitting way to commemorate the country's servicemen and women.

“We’re excited to unveil our special ANZAC Appeal tribute livery for the Supercars New Zealand round in Taupo," said Dymond.

"This year, we honour the brave men and women who served across the Australian and New Zealand services. Being an Australian-owned company for nearly 100 years, it’s a meaningful way for us to pay tribute to their sacrifices and celebrate the spirit of ANZAC Day.

"We encourage everyone to join us in remembering this important occasion as we race in New Zealand this weekend, and to support the RSL’s ANZAC Appeal campaign.”

The Executive General Manager, Fundraising and Communications, RSL Victoria, Rebecca Berg, has also strongly encouraged all Supercars fans to donate to the Appeal in the lead-up to the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.

“The RSL exists to support veterans and their families, and the ANZAC Appeal is the major annual fundraiser that supports veterans in the sometimes-difficult navigation of life post-service," said Berg.

“The final report of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide made it clear that those challenges are increasing.

“The support of the RSL is needed more than ever before, so we urge Supercars fans to get involved and thank Penrite Racing for their support.”

On-track action at the ITM Taupō Super 440 begins with two half-hour practice sessions tomorrow. Practice 1 begins at 11:45am NZST/9:45am AEST, before Practice 2 at 2:30pm NZST/12:30pm AEST.
