The 10-time Grand Prix winner, who raced full-time between 2013 and 2024, has returned to Mercedes as a reserve driver for the 2025 season.

Bottas is in Melbourne with Mercedes at the season-opening Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025.

There, in an interview with Supercars reporter Chad Neylon, Bottas said he is currently looking at Supercars or IndyCar beyond F1.

“I do like IndyCar, it looks interesting, I like Supercars, it looks interesting,” Bottas said.

“I would say those, at the moment, are on top. [Supercars] are fun cars. I actually met some of the guys at Race Of Champions. The level in that series is great.

“For sure one day, I’ll do at least one race, that’s a promise.”

When asked if he wants to contest the Bathurst 1000, Bottas replied: “That would be cool."

The Finn has already sampled Supercar machinery, steering the 2016 Great Race-winning Tekno Autosports Holden Commodore at the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival.

Bottas is also eyeing a permanent move to Australia with Adelaide-born partner Tiffany Cromwell, who is a professional cyclist.

When asked about a possible move to Australia, Bottas said: “I definitely do. I’m pretty positive eventually in the future we’ll settle down in Australia.

“It’s when that is, of course it depends on when Tiffany, my partner’s career, and same with me."
