Monday January 10 at 6.00pm: 2001 Sydney Race 5
Fast from the moment he hit the Eastern Creek circuit, Craig Lowndes was untouchable in Sydney.
Initially claiming victory ahead of Marcos Ambrose, Lowndes was hit with a post-race time penalty for passing Greg Murphy under Safety Car conditions, relegating him to 12th.
Ambrose was also given a penalty for an illegal overtake on Murphy which saw the rookie bumped back to 13th.
Murphy was declared the winner of the opening Sydney race.
Wednesday January 12 at 6.00pm: 2001 Darwin Race 8
The second race at Hidden Valley Raceway was dominated by Russell Ingall, who won Saturday’s opener.
The opening lap saw a close call for Steven Johnson who suffered front spoiler damage after spearing off between Turn 2 and 3.
Despite leading most of the 35-lap event, Ingall encountered a tail-shaft problem with only two laps to go, handing the win to Greg Murphy.
Friday January 14 at 6.00pm: 1998 Phillip Island Race 10
Mark Skaife claimed his first win of the 1998 season at Phillip Island after a topsy-turvy campaign.
Lowndes started from pole alongside Glenn Seton, but Skaife’s great jump off the line saw him clinch the lead.
Lowndes challenged his Holden teammate to the flag, attempting a last moment lunge down the inside but had to settle for second.
