Three iconic Supercars from a golden era in the championship’s history are set to cross the auction block this month.

Three extremely rare and history-making cars driven by Larry Perkins, Craig Lowndes and Todd Kelly will go under the hammer with Lloyd Auctions this weekend.

On offer is Lowndes’ 2003 Ford Performance Racing Ford BA Falcon, driven by the three-time champion in his first season for the Ford factory team.

In just the squad’s second championship appearance, Lowndes famously steered chassis BA001 to a special win at Phillip Island, and the team’s first ever race and round win.

It will go under the hammer on Sunday September 25, with current bidding sitting at more than $100,000.

Also on offer is Perkin’s 2002 Castrol Racing Commodore, the last car the Hall of Famer drove in his final full-time championship season.

Built by Perkins Engineering, the VX Commodore debuted at the non-championship round Albert Park, before finishing fifth at the 2002 Bathurst 1000.

The third iconic car on offer is the 2005 Holden Racing Team VZ Commodore, famously driven by Mark Skaife and Garth Tander for HRT’s assault on Sandown and Bathurst in 2006.

First driven by Kelly from the beginning of the 2006 season, the car was the final VZ built for the HRT before its evolution to Walkinshaw Racing.

The car is presented in its 2006 livery, featuring a one-off black bonnet in honour of the late Peter Brock.

“These are three iconic championship-winning cars that are extremely rare which we have had great interest in from right around the country and we are excited to see them go to their new custodians,” said Lloyds Auctions Chief Operating Officer Lee Hames.

Formula 1 World Champion, Alan Jones said: “This group of important race cars are significant to the Australian motorsport history, and I am sure that many Supercar enthusiasts will have their eyes on this auction.”

The cars are offered in their original condition by Lloyds Auctions, with logbooks and original componentry.

The three iconic race cars will be going under the hammer on Sunday September 25 at 7:00pm AEST.
