The Queensland Government has included V8 Supercars in its latest tourism advertisement focused on Australia's best events in its best destinations.

On the back of the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600 - attended by almost 185,000 fans across the three days - the Queensland campaign uses shots of a Pepsi Max Falcon and Red Bull Commodore tearing down the stunning coast in the 'It's Live! In Queensland' campaign, launched earlier this week.

A number of sporting and cultural events are showcased, as well as the beautiful Queensland scenery.

"This Government has worked hard to put together a sensational offering of sporting, arts, cultural and lifestyle events throughout the state from November 2014 through to October 2015," Tourism and Major Events Minister Jann Stuckey said of the It's Live! calendar featured 126 events, which were expected to generate a $380 million dollar economic boost for Queensland.

"Families can now see it all in one place in this vibrant and exciting promotion," she said.

"Events play a vital role in attracting visitors and supporting the state's $23 billion tourism industry. This initiative builds on our election commitment to grow the industry and create jobs."

Tourism and Events Queensland CEO Leanne Coddington acknowledged how important destination-focused events calendar was for the state.

The Gold Coast 600, Townsville street race and Ipswich rounds of the V8 Supercars were extended last year by the Queensland government until 2016.

This feature follows an invitation by Federal Member for Moncrieff Hon Steven Ciobo for V8 Supercars CEO James Warburton to address a function at Parliament House in Canberra earlier this month on the benefits of the Gold Coast 600 event.
