PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge finalists locked in

Reigning PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge champions Brad Jones Racing has secured a double shot at the 2023 title.

The preliminary rounds of the 2023 challenge came to an end at last weekend’s OTR SuperSprint.

BJR sealed top spot with its #8/#14 crew on at The Bend – the last event of the challenge’s regular season.

Both BJR crews have progressed to the final round of the PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge, with its #4/#96 crew third overall.

BJR’s two crews will be joined by Red Bull Ampol Racing and Penrite Racing, which beat Erebus Motorsport by four points into fourth.

The finals will be held later in the season, where the winner of the live finals will take home the Golden Rattle Gun and $20,000.

BJR has won the last four challenges, and has made the finals in all seven challenges held since 2017.

“The pit stop competition is something that we as a group, really target, you know, it's just really based on skill and hard work,” BJR team owner Jones said.

"And we've been fortunate enough to win it a number of times and been in the final four every time. So it's something we really look forward to.

"And everyone in the team rises to try and to win this trophy and being more successful at this than anyone else is even more incentive to try and continue our run of success.

“We've had such a good run in the PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge that Supercars changed the rules last year so teams couldn't have the same crew in the final twice but here we stand with two crews in the final.

"It’s complimentary in a way that they feel the need to change the rules to offer more opportunity.”

2023 PIRTEK Pit Stop Challenge preliminary standings
