Closing out a rollercoaster 2024 Repco Supercars Championship in the top 10 marked a "positive" for Andre Heimgartner, who wants to turn his late season form in results in 2025.

Heimgartner won in Taupō, but otherwise toiled through a difficult season with an average race finish of 12.3, and average grid spot of 13.8.

The Brad Jones Racing driver's Taupō round was by far his best of the season, with finishes of first and fifth netting Heimgartner 252 points for the round.

With pride on the line, Heimgartner closed out 2024 with his second and third best rounds of the season to clinch 10th in the drivers' championship, which could prove a pivotal position come the Finals next season.

After claiming six top 10s in his first 20 races in 2024, the 29-year-old rounded out the year with four consecutive top 10s across the Gold Coast and Adelaide rounds.

Ninth in the finale in Adelaide could have been much better had Heimgartner not been muscled out of position, although the Kiwi benefited from final day dramas for Anton De Pasquale to claim 10th by 47 points.

"Not a bad day, was looking for a strong finisher then just out there and got ran over a bit," Heimgartner said in Adelaide.

"Overall, not a bad way to end the year. The last five races have been all top 10, so solid end and finished 10th in the championship.

"It's positive given the year we had, so looking forward to next year getting stuck into it and see if we can sort of improve and make our way forward from where we are now."

Heimgartner will return for a fourth season with BJR in 2025, claiming four podiums in 2022 and six in 2023.
