Cam Waters is “super pumped” to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut alongside Will Brown — as long as they "look after each other.”

Supercars stars Waters and Brown will make cameo appearances for RFK Racing and Richard Childress Racing respectively at Sonoma Raceway on June 9.

Waters has two Truck Series starts under his belt already, while Brown’s deal with RCR only came about in recent weeks.

Two of Supercars’ best, Waters and Brown will be carrying plenty of attention at Sonoma, particularly after last year’s impressive efforts by Shane van Gisbergen and Brodie Kostecki.

Tickford Racing ace Waters is keen to get on track with Brown, but suggested they need to keep it clean amid some “pretty wild” racing.

"Obviously I have done two Truck races which has been a massive experience and a massive eye-opener," said Waters, who won the most race race in Perth.

"It will be great to do Sonoma which is a road course and in a car that's more similar to what we race over here.

"I was super pumped and then when I heard Will was doing it, I was just a little bit more excited again.

Brown, who has led the championship since March’s Grand Prix, hopes to bring more knowledge from the cameo back to Supercars as he aims for his first title.

"Mine has probably been on the cards for four weeks, it came about pretty quickly with Richard Childress," Brown said.

"I did a race there with them last year at COTA and I guess I had a pretty good start to the year here with Supercars and thought I could probably reach out again and see if there was any opportunities over there.

"I was able to get a deal done which was awesome, to race over there will be great. Hopefully I can get more experiences and more knowledge and bring it back here as well — it's pretty cool to do a NASCAR race.

"I started talking to Cam and he said he's doing it as well and I thought 'that will be pretty cool’. Hopefully we can have a good race over there and have a good time."
