Repco has today announced further investment in Supercars, taking official naming rights of next year’s season-opening Supercars event on the streets of Newcastle.

The 2022 Repco Supercars Championship will commence in 90 days’ time with the Repco Newcastle 500 across 4-6 March. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The three-day event will mark Supercars' return to Newcastle for the first time since 2019’s dramatic season finale.

Repco signed a five-year deal to be the naming rights sponsor of the Supercars Championship and flagship event, the Bathurst 1000.

Repco's further investment in Supercars comes after a successful 2021 championship in which it also sponsored the championship’s opening round.

"in 2022, Repco celebrates its 100th birthday and we have a year-long celebration planned. We are thrilled to get it started with our Supercars fans from the get go, at the Repco Newcastle 500," Wayne Bryant Executive General Manager, Repco Australia said.

"This weekend, at the Repco Bathurst 1000, we are giving one lucky fan the chance to have the very first hot lap in a Gen3 Supercar at Newcastle. That is just the beginning of some awesome activities we have planned to celebrate our centenary."

Supercars GM of Commercial Jamie Black said Supercars was honoured to enhance its partnership with Repco through the Newcastle sponsorship.

"We're delighted to see Repco build on the existing relationship with Supercars as they get behind two rounds as naming rights sponsor at two of our marquee events of 2022; Bathurst and Newcastle," Black said.

"We're honoured to have the opportunity to further build our partnership with Repco this year and really value the synergies they offer to our sport."

The 161-lap Repco Bathurst 1000 will commence at 12:15pm AEDT on Sunday.

Supercars will return to the track on Sunday for the Warm Up at 9:10am AEDT. Click here to view the track schedule.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 503) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
