The Repco Supercars Championship returns to Mount Panorama for this weekend’s eleventh round of the 2022 season – the Repco Bathurst 1000.

This year’s Great Race event will feature an on-track entertainment extravaganza, alongside four days of Supercars action.

With just two days until the cars hit the track for Practice 1 at Mount Panorama, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.

Schedule

The Repco Bathurst 1000 will be a four-day event held from October 6 – 9.

Support categories will hit the track from 7:25am AEDT on Thursday October 6, with action running through until the end of the Repco Bathurst 1000. Check the track schedule here.

Supercars will stage its opening practice session on Thursday October 6 at 11:00am local time. ARMOR ALL Qualifying will commence at 4:15pm local time on Friday October 7.

The fan-favourite Top Ten Shootout will begin at 5:05pm on Saturday October 8.

The shootout will set the grid for the 161-lap Great Race, which will start at 11:15am AEDT on Sunday afternoon.

This year’s event will also be the penultimate round of the 2022 Dunlop Series, which will feature two 18-lap races on Friday and Saturday respectively.

The official event program will be sold at the Official Supercars Program Store in Merchandise Alley for $10 each.

Camping

All campsites are open with all campsites sold out for this year’s event.

Attending the event

Event organisers encourage attendees to stay COVID Safe by washing their hands as often as possible, keeping a safe distance from others.

Fans will be free to view all of the action from either the top of the mountain or the bottom of the mountain and will not be restricted to zones in either area.

Spectators are welcome to bring their own chairs to the event. There is limited shade, so umbrellas are recommended.

Merchandise Alley will be open with a re-vamped Harris Park precinct ready to welcome fans.

This newly revamped merchandise alley precinct has had a makeover with interactive activities, live music, new food outlets and displays for the whole family.

Immerse yourself in the Peter Brock 50th Anniversary display, visit the Repco Trackside Store, let the kids run free in the SuperKids Zone, grab a drink at the Mt Panorama Public House and enjoy the new food trucks, take a photo with the life size Bathurst 1000 sign and so much more.

Public food and bar outlets will be operating in spectator zones.

Patrons on Mountain Straight will need to use the pedestrian bridge to access the vendors on Hell Corner and patrons on Conrod Straight will need to use the pedestrian bridge into Harris Park.

Patrons may bring in limited quantities of food and drink for personal consumption.

The Supercars paddock will be open to fans. Paddock tickets are available via Ticketek.

The support line-up will feature the Dunlop Series, Porsche Carrera Cup, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, Heritage Touring Cars, and SuperUtes.

TV times

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo from 7:25am AEDT Thursday October 6.

Seven’s live and free broadcast will kick off at 10.00am AEDT on Friday October 7 on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus.

Seven’s coverage of the Great Race will begin at 7:30am AEDT on Sunday October 9. Check out the full TV schedule here.

Gate opening times

Children aged 12 and under are free to enter the venue in general admission areas; however, they must be always accompanied by their ticket-holding parent or guardian. Children require tickets for hospitality and grandstand areas.

Supercars members will receive early access to the track through Gate 4, 30 minutes prior to the public gate opening times listed below.

Gates open at 7:00am local time from Thursday October 6 to Saturday October 8.

Gates open at 6:00am AEDT on Sunday October 9.  

All public should refer to their ticket for confirmation of their gate number to access the venue.

Public transport

Bathurst Buslines will be operating an extensive network of buses to cater for the patrons attending the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Services will operate from most areas of Bathurst as well as Orange and Lithgow to Mount Panorama.

Parking

There are 2 major car parking areas: Priority Parking and a free General Carpark.

Please note that camping, motorhomes or caravans are not permitted in this car park. Fines will apply for anything that is camping in this car park.

A shuttle bus will operate between the top of the mountain and bottom of the mountain.

There are two accessible parking options available at Mt Panorama

Accessible Car Park 1- With the proper vehicle accreditation, accessible parking is available off Ray Bant Drive immediately behind Accessible Viewing Platform 1, located on the outside of the circuit at Murray’s Corner.

Access is via Gate 1 from Panorama Drive roundabout, provided the vehicle contains correct accreditation and all passengers in the vehicle are appropriately accredited with event tickets prior to entering the Gate.

Accessible Car Park 2 – Accessible Parking is available in the main car park adjacent to Gate 4. Enter the car park off Panorama Drive.

Accessible Viewing Facilities 

There are 2 viewing platforms available at this year’s Bathurst 1000.

Viewing Platform 1 - is located on the outside of the circuit just prior to Murrays Corner between the Rydges Hotel and National Motor Museum.

Viewing Platform 2 – is located in merchandise alley (Harris Park) at Murrays Corner next to the pedestrian bridge to the National Motor Museum.

Accessible shuttle bus services will be available on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the event from 8.30am to 6.30pm. Patrons must call Bathurst Buslines on 0408 482 951 to arrange pickup. Any transfers that are within the bottom of the venue will not be charged. 

Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages, or for merchandise purchases, and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.

Please use the sanitiser stations available to you at key entry and exit points.

Otherwise, as with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

Cars will hit the track at Mount Panorama for Practice 1 on Thursday October 6.
