Erebus Motorsport confirms Team Principal departure
Outgoing Team Principal Brad Tremain set for IndyCar opportunity
Tremain oversaw Bathurst, Gold Coast wins in 2024
Erebus Motorsport has paid tribute to outgoing Team Principal Brad Tremain, who will depart the team to pursue an overseas opportunity.
Tremain took over the Team Principal role at the beginning of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship. Under CEO Barry Ryan, Tremain oversaw wins in Bathurst and the Gold Coast.
The New Zealand-born Tremain is set to pursue a role with IndyCar team Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the United States.
Tremain joined Erebus in 2016 as a mechanic and was named Team Principal before the first round of 2024.
In his time with the team, Tremain has seen Erebus win the Bathurst 1000 twice, and a championship double in 2023, the first year of the Gen3 era.
"Nine years. Two Bathurst 1000 wins. Two Championships. And probably a few grey hairs,” the team posted.
"From Mechanic to Team Principal. But most of all, a friend. Thank you B1.”
It comes after driver Brodie Kostecki, along with engineers George Commins and Tom Moore, will join Dick Johnson Racing in 2025. Tremain, Commins and Moore's departures were all revealed by Ryan on the eve of the Adelaide 500 last month.
"9 wonderful years in Australia and with my team Erebus Motorsport.” Tremain posted.
"I cannot thank Betty and Barry enough for the opportunities and trust that have given me. Thank you to all my team mates over the years for helping make Erebus a championship and Bathurst winning team.
"Also for having a shit load of fun along the way! Thank you to all my Australian friends, you have been like family to me. Time for the next chapter.”
Erebus will commence its 2025 campaign at the opening round in Sydney on February 21-23.
