Historic Holden Supercar finds new home

The final Holden Supercar winner is now on display in The Bend Motorsport Park Welcome Centre.

Broc Feeney’s Triple Eight ZB Commodore holds a special place in Australian motorsport history.

Feeney won last year’s VALO Adelaide 500 finale, which was the last race for a Commodore in the main game.

The 2022 season finale was the last for Holden before the new Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro debuted in 2023.

Fittingly, Feeney’s Commodore returns to South Australia, which was long the base for Holden manufacturing.

The car is complete in the condition it finished the race in, with Feeney beating Chaz Mostert in the race.

The chassis was also Jamie Whincup’s final full-time Supercar, with Whincup retiring at the end of 2021.

The ZB chassis also joins Whincup’s famous 2011 and 2012 title-winning VE II Commodore, affectionately dubbed ‘Kate’.

Kate also won the 2012 Bathurst 1000, which remains Whincup’s most recent Bathurst victory.

The Bend Motorsport Park Welcome Centre hosts a 20-plus car and motorbike display.

The centre, located in the pit complex of the circuit, houses the likes of a Benetton B198 Formula 1 car, Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, McLaren P1 GTR and a Gen2 Formula E car.

Feeney was honoured to have his historic Commodore find a new home.

“To have my very first Supercars race-winning car on display next to Jamie’s Championship-winning car “Kate” at The Bend Motorsport Park is really awesome,” he said.

"It’s even more special to think that this car was the last ever winning Holden supercar, and for it to now stay in South Australia, the home of Holden, is a really cool feeling.

"I’m looking forward to seeing it again when we race at The Bend later in the year.”

Feeney won Race 6 at the Beaurepaires Melbourne SuperSprint last weekend.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint on April 28-30.
