James Courtney’s current contract is set to be his last, with the 2010 Supercars champion flagging 2025 as his final full-time season.

The 44-year-old joined Blanchard Racing Team in 2024, following four seasons with Tickford Racing.

Courtney has shown glimpses of speed in 2024, recently taking third in a hotly-contested Top Ten Shootout in Townsville.

However, speaking with 9News, Courtney revealed he will race on in 2025 before saying "that'll be it for me.”

“Real estate is actually my first real job now because racing has been my whole life up until now,” the 15-time Supercars race winner said.

“I'm coming towards the end of the racing side of my life and I saw [real estate] as a natural progression.

“I've always had a massive interest in real estate, whether it's buying and selling my own houses.

“I'll finish this year and do next year then that'll be it for me full-time. I've had a hugely successful career, had a great time doing it all and I want to end it on my terms.”

The 2025 season will be Courtney’s 20th straight Supercars campaign. The veteran has claimed a podium finish in each season since his full-time debut with Stone Brothers Racing in 2006.

He shifted to Dick Johnson Racing in 2009, and duly won the 2010 title with the team before defecting to Holden in 2011.

After nine seasons with the Walkinshaw team, Courtney returned to the Blue Oval midway through 2020 after an ill-fated one-round stint at Team Sydney.

Courtney will make his 252nd round start at this weekend’s Panasonic Air Conditioning Sydney SuperNight.
