Penrite Racing reveals special New Zealand-inspired livery
New silver look features ferns, Kiwi birds and New Zealand
Matt Payne, Richie Stanaway part of five-strong Kiwi contingent
Penrite Racing has revealed a special New Zealand-inspired livery for the upcoming ITM Taupō Super400, where drivers Matt Payne and Richie Stanaway will race on home soil.
Payne and Stanaway will form a five-strong Kiwi contingent with Brad Jones Racing duo Andre Heimgartner and Jaxon Evans, and Walkinshaw Andretti United rookie Ryan Wood, at the April 19-21.
In celebration of the first Supercars round at Taupo, and the first in New Zealand since 2022, Penrite Racing has designed a one-off livery in tribute to the loyal Penrite Racing fanbase in New Zealand.
The regular black livery has made way for a silver look, complete with ferns, Kiwi birds and the New Zealand country itself.
Payne and Stanaway also starred in a video to help reveal the livery.
“To have a New Zealand livery is really exciting for the team as we head to what we feel is like our second home,” Grove Racing CEO Brenton Grove said.
"We can’t wait to celebrate the event with our Kiwi fans and show off how proud the team is to be in New Zealand. The cars look great, the drivers are ready. We can’t wait to hit the track over there and soak in the atmosphere.”
Penrite Racing is currently second in the teams’ championship, with Stanaway and Payne sixth and seventh in the drivers’ standings.
"I'm incredibly excited to race on home turf in Taupō with our new livery. It's very cool, and the silver print and design are simply awesome,” Payne said.
"The support from our New Zealand fans means the world to us, and we are keen to put on an unforgettable show for them.”
Stanaway added: "We are ready to race hard on the track and make our Kiwi fans proud.
"I am determined to improve on my performance from the previous rounds and aim for those top spots as we return home.”
The team’s naming rights partner, Penrite Oil, is also the official Oil and Lubricants Partner of the 2024 ITM Taupō Super400.
Penrite CEO Toby Dymond said: "Penrite is thrilled to return to New Zealand to support our loyal Kiwi customers and showcase our two local drivers, Matt and Richie.
"Racing at Taupo also presents a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our New Zealand fans and demonstrate the performance and quality of our products.”
The team has also revealed an exclusive merchandise range, which includes all-new New Zealand-specific items such as polo shirts, caps, and stubby coolers, which are available both on track and at the pub.
Penrite Racing recently announced an official watch hub at The Cornerstone Taproom (5 Tūwharetoa St Taupo 3330), hosting a fan night, driver meet and greets, and releasing their exclusive New Zealand merchandise.
