The Bottle-O Racing Team's David Reynolds plans to come out firing in his fourth season under the Prodrive Racing umbrella as he returns to his original 2014 chassis.

Reynolds, who will start his season in the FG specification Falcon before transitioning to the FG X early in the season, aims to lift after a lacklustre last season.

The 2013 Gold Coast winner appeared on the podium only once in 2014, yet was a frequent front-of-field performer throughout the season, especially in the latter part of the year.

Reynolds has been working hard in the off-season on improving all aspects of his preparation and has challenged himself to aggressively add more consistent, front-running results to his list.

The 29-year-old is confident he can get his chassis, team-mate Mark Winterbottom's 2013 Bathurst winner, back to its best.

Former Erebus engineer Brad Wischusen joins the team as race engineer for The Bottle-O driver following an engineering restructure in the off-season.

"The last few events last year were really positive and while it sometimes didn't look that way in the results, the way we had the car handling and performing has put us in good stead for this season," Reynolds said.

"The podium at Homebush was our best result for the year and while it was a while in the making it was good to get that momentum leading into this season.

"I'm really excited to work with Brad. He has a lot of experience working in the V8 Supercar industry so it will be good to see what new ideas he brings to the table. I'm really excited for the season and for the opportunity to get in an FG X and am ready to attack it head on to get the results I know we can get."

Team owner Rod Nash is confident that Reynolds can rise to the challenge.

"The guy has great talent both on and off track but it's time to deliver and we will work very closely with Dave this year in order to achieve the required outcomes," Nash said.

"The sport is at a turning point both economically, with its new media rights deal, and with the general structure of the business. These parameters are important to our sport but the greatest strength of Supercars is the competitive nature between the teams and drivers.

"This competitiveness is what we are working hard on and closely with Dave in order for him to step it up.

"There are a number of factors that go into achieving this and its these that Dave has been working on behind the scenes in order to get the best of what we know he can do with his ability so he can kick the goals for both the team and its sponsors.

"We had a number of really competitive races last year, particularly at Bathurst where we were right up the front even in a damaged car. We're back in that chassis this year with the aim to get some good results on the board.

"Consistency will be extremely important especially with some events with an extremely tight turn around but we know Dave has the skills and the confidence. All he has to do now is turn that into race wins."

The Rod Nash Racing-entered car #55 continues its relationship with title partner The Bottle-O while entering its second year with support from Jim Beam Devils Cut.

New-for-2014 partner TSW Alloy Wheels returns with an expanded presence while support remains from Hogs Breath Caf, Mongrel Boots and Apex Replicas.
